“Do you understand, sir, do you understand what it means when you have absolutely nowhere to turn?” Marmeladov’s question came suddenly into his mind “for every man must have somewhere to turn…“
This website is a place where I publicly post and archive things I like to create: essays, art, photos, and videos.
Life allows us to experience a world that is beautiful; it is my passion to record and re-create beauty that I experience for my own recollection and hopefully for sharing with others.
Beautiful things like nature, people, and places can be viewed and captured in many ways, but these memories often get filed away in picture albums, hard drives, and social media platforms. Looking back at them, it is hard to recall what made us really stop and capture the moment apart from the superficial. The easier it gets to do this, the more of it we do, and the less valuable each memory becomes.
Interacting with what we experience such as talking to people we meet on our travels, writing about what we observed sitting at a café, or roughly drawing a beautiful scenery while we are there – this deepens our memories, which is really all we get to take away once time passes and the moment is over.
To know that life is beautiful, that one can create something worth remembering even from the most forgettable, to prioritise the good and spiritual over the mediocre and mundane, that is the feeling I try to capture. This website is meant to record my continuing efforts in this respect.
